           | Panaji, Feb 5 : A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Thursday caused a flutter in the assembly when he used the word "Bihar" as a simile to describe a "state of lawlessness". BJP legislator from Saligao Dilip Parulekar, who was speaking during a calling attention motion, said that Goa seemed to be going the "Bihar way".
"We have heard of murder and fights in Bihar. Are we becoming yet another Bihar?" Parulekar asked.

Parulekar had moved the calling attention motion, alleging that the Congress legislator from Calangute Agnelo Fernandes was involved in a brutal assault on Reis Magos panchayet representative Tuesday morning.

"The government should try and control the law and order situation or else we will become another Bihar," Parulekar said.

Last year, Home Minister Ravi Naik was in for acute embarrassment after he allegedly referred to people from Bihar as beggars while referring to the introduction of a Panaji-bound train from Patna. The Bihar chief minister had demanded an apology from Naik, who had later said he was "misquoted".
