Pappu Yadav gets bail in MLA murder case

 

Patna, (Bihar Times): Madhepura RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, got a major reprieve when the Patna High Court on Wednesday granted him bail in the case of murder of CPM MLA Ajit Sarkar on Wednesday.

A Division Bench of the Patna High Court granted bail to the controversial MP. The division bench, comprising Justice Shivkirti Singh and Justice Abhijit Sinha, granted bail to the RJD MP from Madhepura.  The court directed Pappu Yadav to furnish a bail bond of Rs 10,000 and two sureties of like amount before the court of designated CBI judge in Patna to obtain bail.

Earlier, Pappu Yadav and former Independent MLA Rajan Tiwari along with three persons sentenced to life imprisonment by a CBI court in the case of murder of Ajit Sarkar. Five persons — Pappu Yadav, Rajan Tiwari, Anil Yadav, Amar Yadav and Harish Chaudhury — were named accused in the case.

Pappu Yadav had won the Madhepura Lok Sabha seat in a by-election after the RJD supreme Lalu Yadav retained Chapra, vacating Madhepura. He had won Madhepura, besides Chapra.
