Madrasa degree holders on warpath in Bihar

Patna, (Bihar Times): A large number of Madarsa degree holders on Wednesday stage a strong protest in front of the office of the Bihar State Madrasa Education Board (BSMEB) and locked its main gate.

Under the banner of All Bihar Madrasa Students’ Union they protested agains the the derecognition of the degrees of Alim and Fazil by the HRD department in course of appointment of para-teachers.

The degree of Alim is recognised equivalent to graduate and Fazil equivalent to master degree. But when the government started the process of second round of recruitment of para-teachers, the official order did not recognize the two Madrasa degrees.

According to the president of the Union Danish Abdin so far these degrees had been accepted in all the government departments and in the BPSC and in the last teachers’ recruitment too these degree holders had been employed. But this time, he alleged, under a conspiracy they have been kept out.

Abdin told newsmen that when their degree is not recognised what is the viability of this Madrasa Board.
