           | Patna, (Bihar Times): The Union government said that the breach in river Kosi, which had resulted in a devastating flood in August last year, has been repaired and the river is now flowing along its original course.
“The breach section has been closed and the barrage is raised upto a level of 82.50 meter in the first phase work on February 16 this year,” Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.

The river is now flowing along its original course through the barrage, the minister informed the House, adding that work is on to further raise it to a height of 87.25 metre.

Replying to a question the minister said a Joint Project Office (JPO) was set up at Biratnagar in Nepal in August 2004 to prepare a detail project report of the Saptakosi High Dam  Project.
