LJP will go alone in Bihar, Paswan reiterates

Patna, (Bihar Times): The Lok Jan Shakti Party on Saturday announced that it would go alone in all the 40 parliamentary seats of Bihar in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

According to the Union minister of steel and fertilizer, Ram Vilas Paswan, his party would contest all the 40 seats and the process of candidate selection is already on. He said the names of candidates for 16 Lok Sabha seats have already been announced.

Addressing newsmen in New Delhi on Saturday he said there have been no seat-sharing talks with UPA coalition partner RJD. He said that he was concentrating on Uttar Pradesh too. He blasted the Bahujan Samaj Party for what he said carrying out political killings and targeting LJP workers. The LJP, according to him, would observe Mayawati’s birthday on January 15 as Khooni Diwas (Bloody Day). He said his party would launch jail-bharo campaign all over the state and would seek the resignation of the UP chief minister.

This is not the first time that Paswan has announced to go alone in Bihar and reorganize his party in UP. Observers say that it is simply a political ploy to seek his pound of flesh in the UPA in the coming poll.
