Extortionists attack Delhi tourist bus in Bihar

Patna, (Bihar Times): Extortionists damaged a tourist bus of New Delhi when the passengers refused to contribute money for the Saraswati Puja in Nawada district of Bihar on Sunday.

According to the media reports the anti-social elements pelted stones on the bus and smashed the windscreen. They unsuccessfully tried to pull out the bus driver to beat him up.

The bus had about 25 couples from New Delhi and Haryana and was bound for Ganga Sagar in West Bengal from Bodh Gaya ahead of Makar Sankranti. The incident occurred between Barail and Mehuli village on Nawada-Hisua Road, a few kilometres from Nawada Police Lines.

Reports also said that the tourists raised slogans against the poor law and order in Bihar. The women tourists were more vociferous in their protest and shouted to their male counterparts that Bihar kabhi nahin sudherega (Bihar is hopeless), the report said.

The tourists, including A S Bhardwaj, a CBI inspector from New Delhi, besides Choudhary Mokhtiar Singh, an official from the Central home department, demonstrated before the Police Lines demanding action against the culprits.

The SDPO of Nawada reportedly ordered arrest of the culprits but no arrests could be made. An FIR against unknown persons was lodged with Akbarpur police station under which the place of occurrence falls. The tourists departed for Ganga Sagar an hour later.

Its really sad to see such incidence happening, in fact such force full chanda collection is common and BIHAR Government should come forward and declare this as an unlawful act, similar to extortion in gravity.

How ever shouting slogans by women travelers like Bihar Nahi Sudhera ga etc.  it shows nothing but their biasness and corrupt mentality. Rather my comment is that these Indians will not Change.Do these Women form NCR come out and sought Slogan on Delhi/Haryana/UP etc. nahi sudhera ga when women are gang raped, Kidney are stolen, or when women are killed on Delhi road???  And answer is big NO you scoundrels.

Such an action cannot and should not be condoned. But victims appear to be more interested in badmouthing Bihar (Bihar nahin sudherega) rather than seek justice for their complaint. Bihar gets more than its fair share of flak due to such stray incidents. Maybe we should learn from Pakistan who are doing a good job of defending even such an indefensible thing as supporitng terrorism!

On a more serious note, Bihar is more sinned against than sinned. A CM of Maharashtra (Ramrao Adik) misbehaves with airhotesses when drunk on an international flight and the flak is reserved only for him as an individual and not his state. But when a junior MP gets caught in a brothel in Calcutta, Bihar keeps getting rammed for months and years!

RK Singh was a young probationer in IAS from Bihar who was accused of misdemeanor by the administrator of LBS academy, Musoorie, a hihgly biased bureaucrat called PS Appu who insisted on summarily dismissing Singh without enquiry. It made headline news for days in the 'national' newspaper. Bihar minister Bhishm Narayan Singh was accused of shielding a guilty party when he insisted on a proper enquiry before any action against RK Singh. In the event, RK Singh was dismissed from service.

RK Singh fought the case in a court of law. He went on fighting for almost a decade as each time he would win, the govt would file a case in a higher court. Finally, the Indian supreme court declared the action ultra vires and RK Singh was reinstated. The same 'national' newspapers never reported it in their headines. The arrogant PS Appu
never issued any public apology for his highly biased act.

Bihar kafi sudhar chuka hai. Let us bring perspective to such news items. "National" newspapers have a vested to report negative news from Bihar. Years and years of baised coverage have made them genetically incapable of reporting anything but biased news from Bihar.

It's a sad incident. The culprits should be punished. At the same time it appears that inorder to get attention tourists restored to raising slogans against  Bihar. Making statements like Bihar kabhi nahin sudherega (Bihar is hopeless) reflects nothing but prejudiced minds which is technically racism. It results in loosing public sympathy of any kind for the victims.
