Patna, (Bihar Times): The defence ministry is to open the Officers’ Training Academy for the army officers of the Short Service Commission in Gaya. It will start functioning from December next. It will be second such Academy in the country.
The Academy will impart training to the officers of the ranks of Captain and Major. The Academy will come up in the sprawling 600 acres of land in the Army Services Corps (North) in Gaya.
The defence ministry has for the last several years been planning to shift the ASC (North) to some other places. However, it was opposed by the state government. Now, according to reports the ASC will be accommodated somewhere within the state.
The coming up of the OTA will certainly give a boost to Gaya.
