Sri Bhogendra Jha was a true giant on  the Indian political landscape. While post independence India has seen a rapid downhill slide of the political honesty and integrity starting with TTS scandal in Nehruvian cabinet,  he always carried the golden standard of honesty and  integrity on his shoulder. He was never bothered about mundane personal matters but always viewed  life in greater,  philosophical context. The search for this broader context brought him closer to the suffering humanity. And thus was not without reason that he tirelessly fought for the cause of the suffering masses.  His was a life which enriched us all and yet, he never ever sought anything in return. That he died without a personal home, tells us what the people of independence era were made up off! A true saint without the attire - a fakir.

Knowing him was a personal privilege for me. Whenever I think of moral value in public life, Bhogendra Jha's name flashes in my mind. In his death India has lost a torch bearer of honesty. To me it is a personal loss and I am diminished. I share the grief with Dr. Vijay Jha and his brothers.
