Patna, (Bihar Times): An SAP jawan and six Maoists were killed in a fierce encounter between the police and Maoists at Chaturpatti village under Paroo police station in Muzaffarpur district late on Thursday evening.
The deceased jawan has been identified as Om Prakash Tiwary. Reports say that at least six Maoists were also killed in the encounter.
According to the ADG (headquarters) Neelmani the body of one Maoist has been recovered so far and the search for others continues.
The entire area has been cordoned off and Muzaffarpur SP Sudhanshu Kumar is camping at the encounter site.
