No distributor yet in Bihar for film on marriage at gun-point

Patna,(BiharTimes): Marriage at gun-point is a reality in Bihar. But a film made on it by Sushil Rajpal has not yet got any distributor in the state.

Antardwand, based on a real-life incident of forced marriage by kidnapping a groom, is slated to be released on August 27 with 125 prints all over India.

“As the company has no presence in Bihar, it would not be releasing the movie there. However, the movie is set in Bihar and it is necessary, that the movie releases there. Hence, I am looking for distributors in Bihar,” Rajpal was quoted in Hindustan Times.

He further said “Kidnapping grooms and forcing them into marriage is rampant in Bihar. Last year alone, over 1,000 such cases were registered.” He added that he had tried to show how this social ill of forced marriage affects everyone in the family.

The film has won the 55th National Award for best film in social cause and best actress award at MAMI.

“It is more important that the movie gets released.” Rajpal said on the expected commercial success of the movie.
