Parties against misuse of money in election: Quraishi Patna,(BiharTimes): The Chief Election Commissioner, Shahabuddin Yaqoob Quraishi, said on Tuesday that all the political parties are united on the issue of misuse of money power and 95 per cent of the media houses are also against the practice of paid news.
Talking to newsmen after reviewing the election preparedness in Bihar he said non-partiality, total neutrality and transparency would be maintained in the entire poll process. Grievances of people would be addressed promptly and properly. He said that Election Commission had issued new expenditure guidelines for the elections and for the first time they will be made effective in the forthcoming Bihar assembly election. The Election Commission is expected to announce the dates for the Assembly polls after reviewing the election preparedness. It would take into account factors like examination, monsoon, festivals, law and order and force requirement before announcing the poll schedule.

He also warned IAS and IPS officers of Bihar against influencing the electoral process during the coming Assembly election.
