RJD, LJP announce seat-sharing arrangement

Patna,(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Monday reached a seat-sharing agreement for the forthcoming assembly elections in Bihar.

According to the formula RJD will contest 168 seats, while LJP 75 seats in 243-member Bihar Assembly. RJD has 54 while LJP 12 members in the present Bihar assembly. Bihar Assembly election is likely to be held in coming October.

RJD and LJP presidents Lalu Prasad Yadav and Ram Vilas Paswan respectively held a joint Press Conference in New Delhi on Monday to announce the seat-sharing agreement. They blasted the Nitish Kumar-led JD (U)-BJP government in the state and expressed confidence that they will return to power.

On this occasion Lalu Prasad Yadav was announced as the Chief Ministerial candidate of RJD-LJP combine while the Bihar president of the LJP, Pashupati Kumar Paras, the younger brother of Paswan, has been declared as the deputy chief ministerial candidate.
