Absence of any Union minister from Bihar reflects Congress’ love for state: BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): The BJP has given a new twist to the issue of the ‘neglect’ of Bihar by the ruling Congress party at the Centre.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday party spokesman Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said that this is the first time in India that there is no representation of member from Bihar in the Union Cabinet.

Husain asked that in such a situation had the Congress any right to take credit for the state’s development when there was no no representation from the state in the Union ministry.

He flayed the Congress Ministers at the Centre for making irresponsible statements about central assistance to Bihar. The BJP spokesman said that the Manmohan government had denied Bihar’s right to utilise the opportunities of investment worth crores for manufacturing ethanol through sugarcane juice.

He once again raised the issue of coal linkages by stating that the Centre had not been providing required coal linkages to Bihar for setting up thermal power plants.

It needs to be mentioned that Congress has only two MPs from Bihar. Out of this one Miera Kumar is the Speaker of the Lok Sabha while Maulana Asrar-ul-Haque is the first time member from Kishanganj.

The Bihar government has repeatedly been accusing the Centre on the issue of ethanol production. However, the environment groups have repeatedly been opposing the state government on this count.

Mr. Shahnawaz Husain is absolutely right if he says non representation of Bihar in the UPA Government is nothing but "ignorance" for a state which desparately needs life-line in terms of ample representation at the Central Level.

Madam Meera Kumar is a leader with clean image so far, she would have been an ideal candidate for a birth based on her politial experience they her candidature is not being used at the right place.
