Veteran journalist passes away

Patna,(BiharTimes): Veteran journalist P K Krupakarn died in the state capital on Saturday after a protracted illness.

Krupakarn, who worked for the Indian Express for over 40 years, had to his credit covering the 1971 Indo-Pak War, which led to the creation of Bangladesh and the 1974 Jayaprakash Narayan-led Sampurna Kranti Movement.

He worked in three states Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. Krupakaran is survived by two daughters. One of his daughters, K Shashikala is associated with the Times of India, Patna while his son K Balchand, is the special correspondent, The Hindu, in New Delhi.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was prominent among those who condoled his death and declared state funeral in his respect.
He said that Krupakarn death is a personal loss for him. Krupakarn’s contribution in the field of journalism would always be remembered.
