Bihar minister seeks hike in salaries of MLAs, MLCs

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar animal and fishery resources minister Giriraj Singh has demanded a hike in salaries and allowances of MLAs and MLCs in the state.
Talking to reporters in Patna on Wednesday he said there is need for a hike in salaries and allowances of legislators of the two Houses of Bihar legislature.

Singh, who is a BJP leader, said that in several states legislators are getting higher salaries and allowances than Bihar.
He said that he expects the state government to take a favourable decision in this regard as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar too is sensitive to the issue.
Like other ministers in the Nitish cabinet he too supported the abolition of MLA Local Area Fund in Bihar and sought the scrapping of MPLAD fund too.
