Lalit Yadav is new Chairman of Public Accounts Committee

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): Four times RJD MLA and former minister Lalit Yadav has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee by the Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary.


The Speaker has also constituted 14 House committees (PAC). Abdul Bari Siddiqui, now Leader of the Opposition, was the chairman of the PAC in the last Assembly,

The chairpersons of all these committees will get the rank and benefits of minister of state.

Lalit Yadav served as a minister in the Rabri Devi cabinet.

As the office of the PAC Chairman goes to the main opposition party the RJD had recommended the names of Lalit Yadav and Raghvendra Pratap Singh for the post of Chairman. However, the Speaker made the latter the Chairman of Library Committee.

Izhar Ahmad, the Janata Dal (United) MLA is the new Chairman of Estimate Committee and Shaligram Yadav of the same party has been appointed as the new Petition Committee, Subodh Rai, also of Janata Dal (United), is now the new Chairman of Internal Resources Committee and Ramesh Rishideo of SC/ST Committee.

The four women MLAs of JD(U), who have been selected to head various Assembly committees are Bima Bharti (House Committee), Poonam Devi (Women and Child Committee), Guddi Devi (Agro-industries Committee) and Lesie Singh (Assurance Committee).

According to sources the rest seven of the total 21 House committees would be constitured later. So far no BJP MLA could be appointed Chairperson since the party has not provided names.
