An NRI’s appeal for release of his abducted brother

He (Neeraj Kumar) was going by bike from home (Katoria, district Banka) to Deoghar at 4:15 PM (on Wednesday) and near by before CHANDAN (dist Banka), he has been kidnapped by a group of unknown persons.

I have spoken to Mr. Syam kumar, who is inchage of Banka police (SP) and also spoke to AGP of BIHAR (Mr P K Thakur) and they are working to recover Neeraj Kumar but it is almost more than 30 hrs over but still didn't see any positive result.

My name is Sreekanth. It is pathetic to see my friend Sanjeev Kumar in state he is in right now. I am from Andhra Pradesh and have heard stories of Bihar in the past. After Nitish Kumar took over, there is a ray of hope for people of Bihar and I am really positive that Sanjeev's brother Neeraj will come back home safe. From past 3 days I am working with Sanjeev to make sure we extend as much help as possible. But sitting in US and getting in touch with all the important people is getting tougher day by day. As such, we hardly slept for few hours in the past couple of days. The issue now became a global issue and people across the world are watching this. I am sure if Neeraj is released safe by government, the image of Bihar would change for ever.

I am extremely delighted to see Bihar Times coming forward to open a column for this cause. I urge all NRIs in United States and across the world to put pressure on Bihar Government to make the release of Sanjeev brother a reality.

Sanjeev we all share your feelings. This news has touched every one's heart. The entire NRI's from all across the globe are with you. We pray to God that Neeraj returns safely back to his home. I am sure that entire Police force of Bihar has put all out effort and will not relax till Neeraj is back home safely.

It is really shocking to read the abduction cases in Bihar under Nitish rule. It looks Nitish tried to control the abduction case only few months before his election and now since he has won the election he has no time to look into all these lawlessness and abduction. It also proves that Bihar is not going to improve no matter who comes into power as at the end of the day all politician are same. It also further establish that Nitish has a backing of media who does not question at all rather buttressing and praising him all the time. I don’t think there is any future of Bihar – UNFORTUNATELY and no non resident Bihari would like to come and start his venture in Bihar. It is all media gimmick under Nitish patronage which shows and say lot of loft things about Nitish Government whereas the exact story is altogether different.

This is very unfortunate. The worst for those of us at the other side of the globe is the helplessness. I hope Neeraj returns without a scratch. His safe release will definitely improve the image of Bihar and the Administration of Nitesh and the Bihar Police in general.

This is shocking to see and read the spurt in incidence of kidnapping in Bihar. I am with Sanjeev and many like him who are facing this moment of crisis. I sincerely urge BIHAR TIMES to put enough pressure on the government so that they come out of their dream victory and start working towards safety of its people. Did media try to question and corner our CM on this , what he has to say on the action taken in individual cases of kidnapping? Can he assure the people and Sanjeev that he will do everything possible to get their kith and kin back to them?

I request BIHAR TIMES to spare a space on its widely read PORTAL to list all the current kidnappings, officer in charge for the respective cases and any updates on them. This should put enough pressure on the bureaucracy and police. I hope and pray that our police will soon recover Neeraj ,Golu and many others who have been kidnapped. Media at same time should also list the cases and highlight the police team who has successfully rescued the people and put criminals behind the bar for their heinous crime.,

"Its really pathetic to see surge of crime and abduction in Bihar. I too live in USA and am planning to return to Bihar and to start my research lab there which will help underprivileged talented students. But, these criminal acts are compelling me to think again on my thought of returning- Shall I be able to do anything there in such a pathetic conditions? Is it wise to return to place of criminals even though that is my home? Shall I not be abducted if I gain success in my life???..... Several questions"
