RJD blames govt for auction of Handloom Cooperative building

Patna,(BiharTimes): The main opposition party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal, on Friday held the Nitish Kumar government responsible for the auction of Regional Handloom Cooperative Union building at Biharsharif.

According to its spokesman, Shakeel Ahmad Khan, the building located in Nitish Kumar’s home district was auctioned at throwaway price––for Rs 18 lakh––to clear off accumulated loan and other payments totalling Rs 3.7 lakh.

Talking to reporters he said that about 50 lakh weavers of 11 districts of the state have been rendered jobless as they will no more be able to purchase yarn and sell their handloom products at the building.

He alleged that a person reportedly related to the Chief Minister bought the building. He said that Nitish Kumar himself managed the purchase of the weavers' building by his relative.
