NDA is like river Ganga, everyone gets purified, says Thakur

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar BJP president Dr C P Thakur made a strange justification for the induction of controversial former Union minister Mohammad Taslimuddin into the Janata Dal (United) by saying that the NDA is like river Ganga and everyone gets purified after taking a dip into it.

He made the statement in the backdrop of the former Union minister joining hands with chief minister Nitish Kumar at Kishanganj on Sunday.

Talking to newsmen on Monday he denied that the BJP had any reservation over the induction of Taslimuddin. The JD(U) is altogether a different party and induction of any leader into it is its internal matter, he said.

Referring to Monday’s incident involving JD(U) MP Monazir Hassan’s statement against Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi he said that the party would find out as to how a responsible leader like him said so.
Dr Thakur’s statement, in a way, made it amply clear that the NDA’s doors are wide open for all the controversial figures in the state politics.

His justification notwithstanding, there is general resentment among the BJP rank and file in the entire Kosi belt as the party workers have been deprived of the political plank. “We struggled against Taslimuddin and his men for whole life. How can we now support him in the election,” one of them asked.
