When Nitish went to meet Jaitley at C P Thakur’s place

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar was made to climb down, yet again. He went to the residence of the state BJP president, Dr C P Thakur, to meet the leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley and other BJP leaders.

If reports are to be believed Nitish did so because the BJP rank and file did not want their own leaders to go to 1, Anne Marg as they said that only last month their top brass were humiliated. Ever since internal surveys conducted by both the BJP and Janata Dal (United) suggested that both the parties may be routed out if they contest election separately Nitish has gone on defensive.

The very next day of the appearance of the report related to the surveys in a newspaper he went to meet PHED minister, Ashwani Choubey’s house to attend a religious function.

Party sources said that Nitish held discussions with the senior BJP leaders, including the central in-charge of the state unit Ananth Kumar, who only recently requested Narendra Modi to come and campaign in Bihar. Anand’s deputy Dharmendra Pradhan, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and others were also present in the two hours long meeting over breakfast.

The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere. Both parties pledged to continue their alliance at national and state level and discussed joint election strategies and seat sharing arrangements between them for the coming Assembly elections.

Nitish evaded mediapersons gathered at Dr Thakur’s residence to catch flight to attend the marriage function at the house of jailed politician Anand Mohan at Panchgachia in Saharsa district. Anand’s niece had got married.

Jaitley, who met the mediaperson, described the meeting as a social meeting and refused to elaborate on the issues been discussed.
