Sushil Modi’s cousin remanded to judicial custody

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Chief Judicial Magistrate on Monday remanded Rekha Modi, a cousin of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, to judicial custody for allegedly obstructing policemen from discharging their duties.
Late on Sunday night Rekha had complained that her brother Mahavir Modi and sister-in-law, Madhu, were mentally torturing her in their house and not allowing her to meet her mother.
Late on Sunday night she rushed out of her house in Rajendra Nagar locality in tattered clothes and was seen running on the road shouting for help. A crowd collected and threw stones at the police when they arrived at the spot.
Rekha smashed the windshield of a police vehicle and also allegedly abused policemen when she was taken to the Kadam Kuan police station.
A case of provoking obscenity was slapped against her. Earlier, her nephew, Uddhav Modi, had lodged an FIR with the Kotwali Polcie Station charging her aunt with allegedly stealing Rs 40,000 from the cash box of his shop in New Market.
She was subsequently arrested after an FIR was filed against her for obstructing police in the discharge of their duties.
The following day on Monday Rekha was produced before the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, which remanded her to judicial custody till August 6.
It must be recalled that on February 14 Rekha had lodged a complaint against Mahavir in Kadam Kuan Police Station.
