Former RPF DG Anil Pandey passes away  

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): Anil Kumar Pandey, former DG, Railway Protection Force (RPF), passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), in New Delhi, where he was being treated for cancer. He was 66. He was suffering from the disease for over two-and-a-half years.



He was cremated at Gulbi Ghat in Patna on Thursday afternoon.

Born in Ratanpura village in Saran district, Pandey was a 1967 batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre.

He served Bihar in different capacities and later rose to the level of the DG, RPF, from where he retired from service in 2004.

He was lecturer of English in C M College, Darbhanga, and later St Columbus College, Hazaribag. In 1966, he became an income tax officer. He did his MA in English

He has written several books, besides his poems and articles were published in different journals. Akashvani had also aired his speeches on different topics. He also edited the Bhojpuri magazine published by Bhojpuri Academy.

Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) chief Chaudhary Mehboob Ali Qaiser condoled his sad demise and said that he always carried out his responsibilities effectively and left behind an imprint of an able police officer.

Several Congress leaders, including Prem Chandra Mishra, Uma Kant Singh, Ambuj Kishore Jha and Vijay Shankar Mishra, also mourned Pandey’s death.
