BJP workers protest Sushil Modi, Ravi Shankar sharing dais with murder accused

Patna,(BiharTimes): BJP workers of Rohtas on Wednesday evening created ruckus at the election meeting of deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and party’s national spokesman, Ravi Shankar Prasad and pelted stones at police in protest against the presence of a Janata Dal (United) leader, who they alleged, was behind the murder of the Rohtas district BJP vice president, Mrs Poonam Pandey, on Diwali evening (November 5).

The BJP workers were furious that Amarish Chaudhary, a Janata Dal (United) leader and an accused in Poonam Pandey murder case in Rajapur in Sasaram, the district headquarters of Rohtas, was present at the dais with Sushil Kumar Modi and Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Ironically, these two leaders were promising to make a new Bihar while the workers and general people shouted slogans against them. They demanded the immediate arrest of Chaudhary, a named accused in the murder case. Chaudhary, according to them, is a former Janata Dal (United) district president and a notorious criminal, who was even convicted in a couple of cases.

Local people alleged that what is more shocking is that Arun Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Rajapur police station, where the crime took place, was also present in the election meeting, yet Chaudhary roamed about freely.

BJP and Janata Dal (United) workers are at loggerheads at several places in many parts of Bihar, especially in the old Rohtas district.
