Winter Session of Bihar Assembly to start from Dec 3

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): In its first meeting on Saturday the state cabinet decided to request Governor Debanand Konwar to convene a week-long Winter Sesssion of the State Assembly from December 3 to 9.

The governor has appointed the senior most MLA, Sadanand Singh, as the pro-tem Speaker. He will administer oath to the newly-elected legislators from November 30 to December 2. On December 2 the new Speaker of the State Assembly would be elected.



According to the principal Cabinet Secretary, Afzal Amanullah, the Session has been proposed to facilitate passage of second supplementary budget for the year 2010-11.

Chief minister told his cabinet colleagues that the huge mandate has put a greater responsibility on each NDA MLAs, especially the ministers. “We have to live upto the people’s expectation and therefore will have to deliver,” he reportedly told them.

The top priority of the NDA-II would be regular power supply, weeding out corruption and food security. In the NDA-I the government accorded top priority to law and order, education, roads and medicare.
