BJP keeps out Narendra Modi, Varun from Bihar election campaign

Patna,(BiharTimes): In the new changing situation after the Ayodhya verdict of September 30 the BJP has finally decided to keep the Gujarat chief minister, Narendra Modi, and youth leader, Varun Gandhi, out of the list of its campaigners in Bihar.

Though the apparent reason forwarded was the opposition by the alliance partner, the Janata Dal (United), political observers are of the view that the party now does not need them as, it thinks, that the court verdict will help garner more votes.

According to reports from New Delhi the list of 40 star campaigners of BJP, which was submitted by the party to the Election Commission, as per the requirement, does not include his name.

Lal Krishna Advani, Nitin Gadkari, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Ananth Kumar are the national leaders who figure in the list while Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Spokesmen Ravi Shanker Prasad, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Shahnawaz Husain and state party president C P Thakur, whose name are in the list, come from Bihar.

Though a section of BJP leaders in Bihar earlier insisted to invite both Modi and Varun Gandhi it seems that now they both will agree to central leadership’s move. Apart from that they too did not need Modi.

Modi, as reported earlier, will now keep himself busy in the campaign for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation later this month while Varun is to get married in a couple of months.
