Congress lodges complaint against Sharad with EC

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Congress on Tuesday lodged a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) seeking action against the Janata Dal (United) president, Sharad Yadav, for violating the Model Code of Conduct by saying that Rahul Gandhi should be thrown into river Ganga.



 

Similarly, the chief judicial magistrate of Muzaffarpur, Ramesh Chandra Malviya, on Tuesday admitted a complaint case against Sharad Yadav in this regard. The case was lodged by the vice president of the district unit of the party, Uma Shankar Singh. The case would be heard on Octobter 29.

In Delhi Ranji Thomas, Congress’s national secretary, wrote to the CEC saying “We’re pained to see Sharad Yadav making provocative, abusive, inflammatory, undemocratic and barbaric comments against Rahul Gandhi, general secretary of the AICC, that he will be thrown into the Ganga. It’s shocking.”
