Nitish seeks reduction in centrally sponsored schemes

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar once again accused the Centre of violating a National Development Council (NDC) resolution recommending reduction of the number of centrally sponsored schemes.

Talking to reporters on Wednesday he said development programmes under centrally supported schemes were increased over the years. This way the Centre has been moving away a large chunk of funds from the state to support the centrally supported schemes, he said adding that the Congress party’s claim of development in Bihar taking place with central funds was actually admission of development in the state during the NDA rule.

On Rahul Gandhi’s allegation about exodus of labourers due to lack of jobs, he said there has been a substantial decline in migration of labour from Bihar now because of a lot of fresh employment opportunities created under various state projects. He said it is not he but the Punjab government which said so as that state had to depand much on Bihari agricultural and farm labourers.
