Nitish urges BJP not to whip up passion after Babri verdict

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar urged the National Democratic Alliance partner, BJP against whipping up passions in the wake of the Babri Masjid verdict, which is to come on September 24.

Reports from New Delhi said that Nitish discussed the issue with the leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, during their meeting on Wednesday.

Nitish said that his party’s stand on Babri Masjid is very clear and he has made it clear to Arun Jaitley during the meeting with him.

Talking to newsmen in Patna on Thursday he said the issue should either be resolved through a court verdict or through dialogue. All should accept the decision of the court. Any aggrieved party can always move the higher court. “We are against those who create trouble,” the chief minister said.

The fast erosion of minority votes is the last couple of months, especially since June 12 Nitish-Narendra Modi ad-photo episode, is already causing panic in the Janata Dal (United) rank and file and any attempt by the BJP to whip up passion is likely to have a very detrimental impact on the poll prospect of the Janata Dal (United), if not the BJP. This is why the Janata Dal (United) is repeatedly trying to maintain distance with the saffron party.
