LJP Minority Cell merges with JD(U) in Bihar

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Minority Cell of the Lok Janshakti Party led by its national president merged with ruling Janata Dal (United) in the presence of chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday.



Those who switched sides are National office-bearers of LJP Minority Cell led by its president Syed Afzal Abbas, vice-presidents Masoom Raza, Choudhary Masood Alam, besides 14 general secretaries, four secretaries and treasurer.

Significantly, those who deserted Ram Vilas Paswan is his poll manager, Tanveer-uz-Zaman Taj. Taj is also the Bihar general secretary and office incharge of the Minority Cell of the party.

While Abbas said on the occasion that the Minority Cell was impressed by the works being carried out by tbe chief minister Taj said that it is not Ram Vilas Paswan, but some one who is distributing tickets in the Lok Janshakti Party. He said that even the lone LJP MLA, Izhar Ahmed, is being ignored.

Nitish, while welcoming them into party fold, said JD(U) was “a democratic party which is committed to doing justice to all sections of the society, including minorities, dalits, women and Mahadalits.
