Subhash gone, many in RJD elated

Patna,(BiharTimes): Another brother-in-law of RJD chief Lalu Yadav left the party on Monday.

While some media pundits are dubbing it as a set-back to jijaji there is no dearth of party leaders who are gleefully saying: “Good riddance. This will help the party improve the image and add a few thousands votes.”

Subhash Yadav, till June last a Rajya Sabha MP of the party, left unwept and unsung. Like elder brother Sadhu Yadav he too was virtually kicked out when he was denied renomination. RJD backed Ram Vilas Paswan and Ram Kripal Yadav in the June 17 election for the Upper House. Party insiders said that more than Lalu it was the sister Rabri Devi, who was upset with the activities of the brothers.

While leaving the party Subhash said RJD is a sinking ship and no one will like to travel on it. The captain of the ship has lived his life and he is not in a position to navigate it, he proclaimed before reporters.

He alleged that his brother-in-law was behaving like a dictator and giving preference to sycophants having no base in the state.

“Lalu Prasad should take sanyas (retire) from politics as he has lost the control over the voters and he would bite the dust during the Assembly elections, Subhash said. However, he hastened to add that the personal relationship with Lalu Yadav would remain as it is.

But the younger sala appeared somewhat upset on the response of Congress, the party which he planned to join. When a reporter asked him quoting Congress spokesman, Prem Chandra Mishra, that the door is not open for him in that party he replied: “I am not going to peep into it. Let the door remain close.”

However, he said that he would soon disclose his plan of action.

Strangely he praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for ‘controlling’ the deteriorating law and order situation and said that he must be given another chance to rule the state.

Congerss, it now appears, is no more prepared to induct liabilities like Subhash Yadav into the party. It has already paid the price by taking into the party fold the elder brother Sadhu Yadav, who suffered humiliating defeat in the last year Lok Sabha election from Paschim Champaran. Besides, his induction created a new type of tussle between the old guards and the turncoats, who after being rejected by different parties took refuge in the party.
