EC orders transfer of six IAS, 10 IPS officials

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): As expected the Election Commission late of Sunday night ordered transfer of six IAS officials, including five District Magistrates and 10 senior IPS officials, including three SPs. Some of those shifted are the officers on deputation from other states and holding important posts in the field. Besides, a senior IPS, who joined the BJP last year, and then withdrew his VRS, has been shifted.



According to a notification issued by the state Personnel and Administrative Reforms department, Vivek Kumar Singh, was made new commissioner of Magadh division replacing K P Ramaiyya..

Besides, District Magistrates of Vaishali, West Champaran, Saran, Lakhisarai and Munger districts were removed. Senior IAS officers B Rajendra, P S Meena, Sridhar Cheribolu, Kuldip Narayan and Divesh Sehra were made new district magistrates of West Champaran, Munger, Vaishali, Saran and Lakhisarai districts, respectively.

Similarly, the IG (Tirhut zone) Gupteshwar Pandey has been transferred to state police headquarters. Praveen Bashishtha would be new IG in place of Pandey.

Gupteshwar Pandey had joined BJP on the eve of the Lok Sabha election last year. He had taken VRS but after the denial of party ticket from Buxar parliamentary constituency, he re-joined the police service.

DIG Champaran range Umesh Kumar, who is the son-in-law of senior BJP leader Ganga Prasad, is a Karnataka cadre IPS officer. He was in eye of storm during the last year Lok Sabha election. Now Anupama S Nilekar has been posted in his place.

Similarly, SPs of Madhubani, Kishanganj and Naugachchia were also removed. Ajitabh Kumar would be new SP of Madhubani, Pankaj Kumar Raj of Kishanganj, while Vivek Kumar would be new SP of Naugachhia.
