As family-size grows Friends of Bihar goes hi-tech

Patna,(BiharTimes): Call it precursor to Facebook or Twitter, social networking sites, Friends of Bihar has been doing this job for the last 12 years ever since BiharTimes.com was launched on October 08, 1999.

In fact BiharTimes owes it to late Dr Arvind Narayan Das, former Editor Research of the Times of India (Delhi) and one of the greatest Bihari intellectuals of his time, for this idea. Dr Das, who after quitting the Times of India, used to contribute his articles to various national dailies, along with BiharTimes, suggested that Friends of Bihar would be the dynamic platform for networking Biharis living all over the world.

The idea clicked. Thousands of Biharis living in over 60 countries are connected to it. Some countries have their own coordinators.

Recently, Anil Sinha, MD of Call2Connect and a very successful entrepreneur from Bihar made his company pioneer in its own field, offered his help to make it automatic. “Our team will take care of this great initiative and would feel happy to do something for this initiative” said Sinha when he last attended the BiharTimes Conclave in Patna. Now the names and all the related facts would be registered automatically on Friends of Bihar site. There is nothing manual about it now. This new new dynamic platform will not only provide an effective network as well as a platform to echo their own opinion.

Scholars, journalists, experts, writers, academics, techies, scientists, doctors, and other NRBs all are members of this over-extended family. The latest move will give a new life to ‘Friends of Bihar’ and cement the ties among the members.
