Girls marched to Janata Darbar to demand uniform from CM

Patna,(BiharTimes): Girl students of Class-IX to XII will now get Rs 1,000 instead of Rs 700 every year for school uniform. Similarly students of Class-IX will get Rs 2,500 instead of Rs 2,000 for bicycles.

This disclosure was made after girl students of Class-IX belonging to Rajkiya Kanya Uccha Vidyalaya marched to the chief minister’s Janata Darbar at 1 Aney Marg to complain that they had not received the school uniforms promised to them under the Mukhyamantri Balika Poshak Yojana.
The girls told the chief minister that though they have got the money for the purchase of bicycle they are yet to get anything for the school uniform in spite of the fact that the classes have started several weeks back.
Nitish Kumar assured them that he would look into the matter.
Now every government school is getting Rs 10,000 for organising educational trips, against Rs 5,000 earlier.
Besides, the Chief Minister’s Medha Puraskar would be awarded to students who had secured the top 10 ranks in the Class X and Class XII boards this year. The topper would be given Rs 25,000 and the others Rs 15,000 each.
Toppers at the district level would also be awarded Rs 10,000 each.
