SAP jawan, villager killed in clash

Patna,(BiharTimes): One person and a policeman were killed and four policemen injured in a clash between encroachers and the police at Bhavnandpur in Begusarai district on Saturday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Vivekanand some villagers had forcibly occupied the land owned by Ram Padarath Singh and built more than 15 huts.



He said that the encroachers refused to comply with the order to vacate the plot notwithstanding several reminders,. They turned violent against police personnel who had gone to the village to remove the huts in the morning.
He said that the mob overpowered a Special Auxiliary Police jawan Umashankar and beat him to death in a clash in which a villager was also killed.
SAP jawan Indradeo Mandal, police constables Anjali Yadav, Kumud Paswan and Ashok Rajak were injured and rushed to a government hospital in Begusarai for treatment.
