Made by Biharis Dear Friend Hitler to be screened at Cannes

Patna,(BiharTimes): Hindi film Dear Friend Hitler, which is to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival next month is the result of efforts of three former students of St Michael High School, Patna.
Its script-writer and actor Nalin Singh, co-star Laxmi Kant, who acts as Hitler’s SS officer and creative consultant Imtiaz Ali, are former students of the same school. Therefore, there will be special screening of the movie for the students of this school as well as for Patnaites.


It has a story line of Second World War and has already been screened at the Berlin Film Festival.

Dear Friend Hitler was shot in Noida, Chandigarh and Manali. The bunker of Berlin of 1945 was recreated at the Noida-based film studio.

They recalled as to how they had nicknamed the Hindi teacher, late Henry Francis as Hitler as he was very strict disciplinarian. Today they are thankful to him and owe their success to him.

The film is on the the last days of Hitler, played by Raghuvir Yadav, He is only with his lover Eva Braun, played by Neha Dhupia and his trusted aide Joseph Goebbels, who stood by him, as Germany crumbled and his trusted comrades deserted him.

Hitler speaks in Hindi in the film. It is the first international Hindi movie dubbed in German, French, Persian, English and other languages.The film would be dubbed in 17 languages.

Anil Kumar Sharma, another Bihari, who is the CMD of Delhi-based Amrapali group of firms, is the producer of the film.

Pallavi Mishra wrote the songs, which is sung by Daler Mehandi, who too has his roots in Patna City, Jagjit Singh, Shaan, Bhupen Hazarika and Penaz Masani. Music director Arvind Jha, supervising producer Kaustabh Chowdhary and director Rakesh Ranjan Kumar, also hail from Bihar.
