Sangam Express derails; trains from Bihar affected

Patna,(BiharTimes): Thousands of train passengers have been left stranded for whole night at various railway stations between Allahabad and Kanpur following the derailment of engine and three coaches of Sangam Express near Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday evening.


The incident took place at 7:30 PM when the train was entering Khaga station. The engine, two general coaches and an SLR jumped the track as the train was about to come to Loop Line from the Grand Chord Line.


Most of the Up trains emanating from Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, East UP and North-East are running ten to 15 hours late. This include Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani, Patna-New Delhi Rajdhani, Sampoorna Kranti Express, Mahabodhi Express etc.


A large number of aspirants who are to appear in the AIEEE exam in Delhi schedule to take place on May 1 are travelling on these trains.
