RJD seeks ban on Aarakshan

.Patna,(BiharTimes): Encouraged by the ban on the film by Akali Dal-BJP government in Punjab, BSP government in UP and Congress government in Andhra Pradesh the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday demanded that the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar too ban the release of Prakash Jha’s movie, Aarakashan.

The RJD took out a procession from the party office in Beer Chand Patel Marg to Dak Bungalow Roundabout in Patna demanding that the release of the film be banned. According to the party office secretary Chandeshwar Prasad Singh the release of the film in Bihar would hurt the sentiments of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other weaker sections of the society.

The party workers also burnt the effigy of the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not taking an immediate decision on banning the film.

Meanwhile, reports said that Prakash Jha had agreed to make certain changes in the film.Incidentally, only recently Nitish Kumar welcomed Amitabh Bachchan, one of the heroes of the film to Patna. Earlier reports even suggested that he was to watch the film with Bachchan but now it seems that the programme had been changed.
