Bihar to give direct subsidy to farmers: Deputy CM

.Patna,(BiharTimes): Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said that because of the lackadaisical attitude of the banks towards farming sector, the Bihar government had decided to give direct subsidy to farmers.
He called upon the banks to achieve the target of distribution of 15 lakh Kisan Credit Cards and disburse loan for agricultural work to the tune of Rs 21,000 crore in the current financial year.

Modi, who also holds finance portfolio, also castigated the banks for their poor performance in industrial finance, particularly under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
