JD(U) MLC gives up Council seat, quit party

.Patna,(BiharTimes): Suspended Janata Dal (United) MLC Dr Shambhu Sharan Srivastava on Thursday gave up his Bihar Legislative Council seat and resigned from the primary membership of the party. He also called for an agitation to overthrow the corrupt Nitish Kumar regime.

Stating that there is no difference between the former RJD government and the present Nitish Kumar government he charged the party leadership with functioning in an autocratic manner. Srivastava, whose term expires in May 2012 submitted his resignation to Council Chairman Tara Kant Jha on Thursday afternoon.

Srivastava, a founder-member of the erstwhile Samata Party, in a letter to the chief minister, said that he along with several other leaders, including Nitish Kumar himself, had dreamt of getting the state rid of RJD misrule. They wished end of poverty, unemployment and corruption, and development of industries and irrigation. But in the last six years Nitish had shattered the dream.

The former Samata leader charged that Nitish’s lust for power had made BJP a powerful party in Bihar. Corruption was rampant at every level under the NDA government. The BIADA land scam had exposed the state government before the people. He questioned as to how double standards can be adopted for
2G Spectrum Scam and BIADA land scam.

He said notwithstanding tall claim during the last six years of Nitish’s rule, the state could not produce even one megawatt of power and without power, the state cannot dream of industrialization, development of agriculture and education.

He said that the JD (U) had deviated from its objectives and the government had failed on all the fronts be it industrialization, land reforms, eradication of poverty and providing employment.

People and press in Bihar must examine closely the statements made by Mr Srivastava to find out if he's speaking the truth or repositioning himself Bihar politics. We have seen many noted people changing sides not essentially for Bihar but for themselves -- politics of convenience.

Now, Nitish Zee will replace the outgoing MLC with a man of his (MLC's) caste and subsequently one of MLC's castemen from the UJD will declare that actually he was a corrupt man and wanted to be with the opposition.
A person is replaced by his casteman, just like the DM of Panta for example.

BIHAR HAS MOVED AWAY FROM CASTE. REALLY?

HOW THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF ICONS OF BIHAR HAVE BECOME CASTE BASED CONGRGATIONS - ESPECIALLY PROMOTED BY NITISH KUMAR TO FETCH HIS POLITICAL GOALS? WHAT WILL BE THE IMPLICATIONS IN FUTURE ? BIHAR TIMES should do a story on this topic with detailed analysis.
