People turn out to protest Anna’s arrest in Bihar

.Patna,(BiharTimes): Moments after the news of the arrest of Anna Hazare spread people cutting across caste, community, profession and even political lines converged to different points at various places in Bihar.

In Patna workers and supporters of the BJP and CPI ML also took out processions. Activists of India Against Corruption staged a dharna near Kargil Chowk in protest against the Centre’s action.

Most of these activists chose to assemble near JP statue near Gandhi Maidan. It was from here that Lok Nayak JP gave a call for Total Revolution in 1974, which prompted the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to impose Emergency on June 25, 1975.

Students of B N College, National Institute of Technology, Patna Law College, Patna Medical College and Hospital also took to streets and boycotted classes.

Similar response has been reported from Bhagalpur and other cities of Bihar.
