Right to Public Service Act comes into effect from I-Day

.Patna,(BiharTimes): The Right to Public Service Act came into force in Bihar from the Independence Day on Monday.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar announced this decision from the Gandhi Maidan.

With the implementation of this Act, people after applying for various certificates can easily get them within the prescribed time without greasing the palms of the offficials and employees.


These certificates include those related to income, character, residential, caste, mutation and driving license and their renewal.

Nitish said on the occasion that the Act provides penal action against the officials failing to provide the certificates within the stipulated time frame. Their failure will be treated as misconduct and there is provision of their dismissal from the service.


The prescribed form has been issued for application and the applicants are required to take its receipt. After the expiry of the stipulated time, the applicants can approach the office concerned and seek the certificate they had applied for.


The chief minister said the Act would help curb corruption and graft in the governance.
