JD(U) MLA to sue own party minister in Bihar

.Patna,(BiharTimes): A different type of quarrel has erupted within the ruling Janata Dal (United) in Bihar causing a lot of embarrassment to the leadership.
Barhariya JD(U) MLA Shyam Bahadur Singh has decided to sue rural works minister Bhim Singh of his own party for allegedly not paying heed to a personal request of transfer of one of his close relatives, who was suffering from cancer.

He has decided to take this step after the minister allegedly refused to transfer one of his ailing relatives and humiliated him.

The MLA has also decided to file a defamation case against the minister as he, according to him, misbehaved with the legislator when the latter went to meet him for transferring the said relative to a desired place as he was suffering from cancer.

The MLA said that his relative died on August 16. He was forced to spend his last few days away from his family at the place of his posting.

The minister on the other hand reportedly claimed that all transfers in his department are made according to the rules. He also said that he was ready to face the case.

The MLA’s relative was posted as a junior engineer in the rural works department at Biharsharif. He had requested Bhim Singh to transfer him to Chhapra, where his family lives.

Shyam Bahadur said he got the shock of his life when the minister told him that MLAs were in the habit of citing health reasons for getting their kin transferred at desired places.

The MLA said that he told the minister that he could bring his ailing relative to his residence so that he could himself see his condition. But the minister refused.

The MLA said he had raised this issue in the recently held meeting of the JD(U) legislative party in front of chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Apart from defamation case the family members of the junior engineer are planning to move the State Human Rights Commission on the issue.
