Ruckus in Assembly over media report accusing Nitish of receiving fodder scam money

Patna,(BiharTimes): Proceedings in Bihar Assembly and Legislative Council were disrupted following uproarious scene after the opposition members raised the issue of fodder scam, which was highlighted by a section of media recently.

Quoting a newspaper they alleged the involvement of the present chief minister, Nitish Kumar, and Janata Dal (United) Rajya Sabha MP, Shivanand Tiwary, in the scam. Nitish, according to the report, received Rs one crore from the scamsters.

The members referred to a report pertaining to fodder scam published in a Hindi weekly, Chauthi Duniya, and sought resignation of Nitish. One member also tried to raise the issue during Zero Hour but was not allowed by the Speaker.

However, later talking to the media Narendra Singh, a minister in the Nitish cabinet, said that the opposition is devoid of any issue.

On the other hand Shivanand Tiwary, who was in Patna on Monday, while talking to the media went into rage and criticized the opposition for raising a non-issue.

Meanwhile, the Bihar Lokayukta Bill 2011, which was to be tabled on Monday, will now be presented in the state Assembly on December 7. It is likely to be passed on the same day as there would be no sitting on Tuesday because of Muharram holiday.

The copy of the Bill was distributed to all the members.
