CRPF camp reportedly attacked in Gaya village

Patna,(BiharTimes): A camp of CRPF’s elite Cobra battalion near Khaira village in Dumaria block of Gaya district of Bihar was reportedly attacked by heavily armed Maoists on Sunday night.

According to police sources heavily armed Maoists gathered in the vicinity of the Cobra battalion camp at around 8.30 PM and fired on the security forces. The latter fired back and the encounter continued for quite a while. No casualty was reported from any side.

However, two sources have different versions regarding the firing. While one told BiharTimes that the CRPF personnel got panicked when some crackers were exploded at the time of marriage in the nearby village. They shot back at the imagined targets. To justify this act the police are saying that the attack took place on the camp.

But the other sources told BiharTimes over phone that the clash actually took place just a kilometre away from Khaira village on the outskirts of Dumaria block.

Red alert had already been issued after the killing of Kishanji in West Midnapore district of West Bengal on November 24.
