Protest outside Assembly over thrashing of Mahadalits by JD(U) MLA

Patna,(BiharTimes): About 200 people, led by Congress leader and former MLA Hind Kesri Yadav, on Wednesday staged protest outside Bihar Assembly against the alleged thrashing of Mahadalits in Muzaffarpur district by a ruling Janata Dal (United) MLA.

Denouncing the MLA the demonstrators, who were carrying banners and posters, shouted anti-government slogans. Police stopped them and took them to Sachivalaya police station.
They sought action against Sahebganj (in Muzaffarpur district) MLA Raju Kumar Singh for his alleged atrocities on members of Scheduled Caste during Chath festival last month.
The protesters demanded lodging of a case against the MLA and his immediate arrest. He was accused of beating up members of the Mahadalit community while they were offering arghya at Anandpur Khorani on November 1.
