Youth Congress workers on way to Assembly lathicharged

Patna,(BiharTimes): Police lathicharged Youth Congress workers, protesting against the BIADA land scam, outside the Bihar Assembly on Thursday afternoon.

The march started from Gandhi Maidan and was about to reach R-Block, where it was stopped by the police. The police said that the protested wanted to break the barricades and storm into the Assembly premises. Several workers were injured and many of them were taken to Sachivalaya Police Station.
The protested charged the chief minister, his ministerial colleagues and officials of being involved in the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) land scam.
State Youth Congress president Lallan Kumar sought CBI probe into the BIADA land scam and added that the state government had failed on all fronts.
He said that the state was not spending funds meant for centrally-sponsored schemes such as MNREGA, RGGVY etc yet it always accuses the Union government of meting step motherly treatment to Bihar.
Congress spokesman Prem Shankar Mishra rejected the probe into the BIADA irregularities by chief secretary of the state. He said that the Congress party would continue to raise the issue of BIADA land scam in the future.
