33 CDPOs suspended: Minister

Patna,(BiharTimes): The social welfare department of Bihar has suspened 33 Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), two District Programme Officers (DPOs) and an Assistant Director on charges of irregularities and dereliction of duty in the implementation of various schemes.

Social welfare minister Parveen Amanullah said that departmental proceedings had been initiated against 56 others for irregularities and dereliction of duty in the implementation of the schemes aimed at
nourishment and education of children belonging to the weaker section of the society.

She further said that another 50 CDPOs have been hauled up and asked to file reply.

An assistant director associated with a social security programme has also been suspended on charges of irregularities and dereliction of duty.

Besides, 111 health workers associated with Anganwadi centres have been discharged from service after detection of irregularities during inspection.

The minister also said that several woman observers at the Anganwadi centres had been suspended all over the state on the same charges.
