Patna,(BiharTimes): Several people were injured when inmates of PatelChatravas attacked a coaching institute and shops in Dev Arun Apartments in Bhikna Pahari More under Pirbahore Police Station of the state capital on Friday evening.

According to eyewitnesses a group of students of Patel Chatravas reached the Apartments at 6:30 PM and forcibly took out A K Saha, who runs a Chemistry coaching institute. They started assaulting him.

This was opposed by some shop-owners and residents. The students retreated and returned armed with lathi and hockey sticks, and attacked the shopkeepers.

They exploded a couple of bombs and fired at least three rounds in the air to terrorize traders. A tailor, Mohammad Shahzad, sustained head injury as the students hit him with a hockey stick, when he tried to save Saha. He was rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

By the time Pirbahore and Kadam Kuan police reached the spot most of the students fled from the scene.

However, 10 students were arrested after raid on Patel Chatravas.

City SP (East) Kim and DSP (Town) Ramakant also reached the spot and started investigations. Kim said that the local police are investigating the case. She said the name of a girl had also cropped up in this connection.

Local people alleged that some students forced the coaching institute owners to provide free education to some students.

Saha said that he was sitting in the class waiting for students when some youths barged into the class, pulled him out and started assaulting him.

Patel Chatravas often remains in the news for one reason or the other, especially during the Saraswati Puja days.
