Boycott, irregularities mar TET in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Allegation of question leak, irregularities, and mass scale cheating marred the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) at about 1,380 centers across the state with about 30 lakh candidates appearing in it. The test would continue for second day on Wednesday.

Bihar School Examination Board secretary Lalan Jha said that 29.64 lakh candidates are appearing in the two-day TET across the state, out of which 2.56 lakh candidates are taking examination in and around Patna at 99 centers.

Candidates boycotted examination in Muzaffarpur and Aurangabad districts.

At four centers located at Muzaffarpur and Daudnagar in Aurangabad candidates boycotted the test as the question papers arrived late.

In B S College Danapur in Patna the examination was delayed for about half an hour in the second sitting due to late delivery of question cum answer books.

The SDO (Muzaffarpur East), Rajesh Bharati, said that the exam in this centre would be held in January.

Rumours of question-paper leak are coming from Motihari, Jamui and Samastipur. It was reportedly selling something between Rs 1,000 and 20,000. However, the reports could not be officially confirmed.

On the first day on Tuesday, over 16 lakh candidates appeared in two sittings, while rest would sit on on Wednesday.

Officially 95 per cent candidates turned up for the test notwithstanding extremely cold weather which caused accidents taking seven lives.
