Do not trust Bihar Diary 2012 for information, you would be misled

Patna,(BiharTimes): Websites of publicity conscious Bihar government are notorious for carrying outdated and wrong information. Now even the Bihar Diary, published as per the notification of General Administrative Department, dated as late as December 7, 2011, have old and factually incorrect information. So those who have bought it should be careful in using it.

Though the Union cabinet underwent a big change on July 12 last the latest diary continues to have Mamata Banerjee as the Railway Minister. The fact is that she became the chief minister of West Bengal on May 20, 2011.

As per the diary Salman Khurshid, continues to be Minister of State, Corporate and Minority Affairs, Veerappa Moily, Law and Justice Minister, Jairam Ramesh, Minister of State (Independent charge), Environment and Forest, Vilasrao Deshmukh, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Narayan Swamy, Planning and Parliamentary Affairs etc.

What is more M S Gill continues to be the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, when the truth is that he was dropped from the cabinet. Ajay Makan, who replaced him, has been shown as Minister of State, Home Affairs.

What is strange is that while some information regarding Bihar are correct some are wrong. For example, Navin Kumar and Abhayanand have been shown as the chief secretary and DGP as they took over their respective posts on September 30 and August 31.

But the diary continues mentions that R J M Pillai is the Chairman of the Bihar Public Service Commission when the fact is that Bihar government made K C Saha as his successor on November 9.
